i have a 11:1 piston and stage 1 hotcam and i have my main jets at 140&145. i know this sounds real lean to a lot of you but i pull the plug every sunday and it's on the money.what i haven't messed with is the pilot jets, air screws and needle clip positions.tell you the truth i wouldn't know how!
here's my problem:i race roundtrack and we start from a dead start in turn 3. when they wave the green flag,i get smoked by another rappy with less engine and a 440ex.when they hit turn 1 im just crossing the finish line.when i dump the clutch on the start it has a real bad hessitation, seems like it won't take the gas, like it wants to bog down.when i get in 4th and 5th gears everything is fine and i start walking them down pretty easily.also by the time i get close to them i have so much armpump i can't hold my line anymore and i settle for the place where i'm at.
so,what do i need to change to take care of my starting problem and how do i change it?also when i installed my cam i couldn't get it quite on the money when aligning the three marks on the sprocket but it starts fine and runs great wide open.is not having the time set exactly right causing me to loose any horsepower?or is there another problem all together?
all help will be appreciated

Cam timing will effect where your engine makes the best torque in the RPM range. I think your running lean. I would try 25 pilots 3rd or 4th groove and around 160 on the mains depending on you air box.
