Default older Bears

hi, I am in the market for a good used 4x4 as soon as i get rid of my warrior, due to me being poor, i have a very low price range, i was thinking of getting either a 93-98 Kodiak 400, or a 87-96 Big Bear 350

what are the major differences between the 2 bikes? (besides displacement)

whats the ground clearance?

how much more power does the 400 have over the 350? which is faster? how fast? can they turn 26-27" tires in mud easily enough?

i do alot of trail riding and snow riding in winter, would these be good for me? or would the Wolverine (with 25" gators/bearclaws) be better suited for me

im also taking suggestions for non yamahas too,350cc+ like foreman350-400, bayou400, bearcat454 etc (no polaris)

thanks in advance
mike

Hello. I'll try and get you some answers.

what are the major differences between the 2 bikes? (besides displacement?
Well they are virtually the same atv all around. As a matter of fact alot of parts are interchangeable.

whats the ground clearance?
Ground Clearance 215 mm (8.5'')

how much more power does the 400 have over the 350? which is faster? how fast? can they turn 26-27" tires in mud easily enough?
I've driven both atv's and from a driver's view point I could not tell any difference. Possible when it came down to pulling power I may have noticed a difference. The speed should be pretty close. I was able to get 70km/h . I had 26x12/12 on all corners on my old 93 Kodiak and I had now problem at all to turn the tires in the mud.

i do alot of trail riding and snow riding in winter, would these be good for me? or would the Wolverine (with 25" gators/bearclaws) be better suited for me
I had no issue's in the trail riding department. The only complaint that I had was the weight (599LBS). I found the atv to be very nose heavy.

Well that's about all the feed back I have on the topic for now. Over all if found the old bears to be solid and reliable.

Good luck and happy shopping.
