i am buying a new bike in a little bit. i am considering a banshee. i want to know from all you people who have owned one for a while now are they somewhat reliable. do you have to fix it every time you go ride. cuz my old quad (that i blew up) it broke like every weekend. i think i rode it too hard but anyways. i wanted to know if i could take a banshee out and ride it and not have it break every weekend. thanks

if you're buying brand new, you won't have too many problems with a banshee. if you are buying used, look for a near stock machine. i bought a used 94 and have not had reliability problems....

As long as you keep up with regular maintenance, you should have very little problems.....

Keep the chain oiled and adjusted....zerks....Clean air filter...etc.

Most of the people Who complain about The banshee being alot of work or breaking down....are the people who tend to forget about the maintenance part of it.

If buying used....look closely at the machine....you will be able to tell if the person just cleaned it up for the sale...or really cared about it... check the bearings/bushings for slop.

And try to get the person to let you ride it...Or at least ride it for you...just starting it..is not enough...Make him shift through the gears...you don't want a bike with tranny problems..unless your made of money.
