Default Banshee -choke / rev limiter / or ?

Need some help here guys......

Just pulled the motor from my '96 Banshee, went thru it from bottom to top, put it back in and went to break in the motor....the problem is this.... at approx 1/2 throttle it feels like the choke is still on or rev limiter is kicking in and I can't figure it out. This is the motor...welded crank, dune ported cylinders, 17cc cool head, stock carbs w/340 mains (needles/center), K&N clamp-ons, fresh tank of gas w/new motor.

Any ideas?

1) changed the plugs twice and gapped @ .030 (make sure I had good plugs)
2) new plug caps
3) jetting is correct
4) no TORS system
5) 100+ octane
6) timing @ 0-degrees
7) no parking brake crap

Well there is no rev limiter, except with the parking brake switch thing.

I was thinking that at first, but you said it is removed. Is the tube between the carbs on? Are the carbs in sync?

Could a reed have come loose or broken?

There are some things to check.

One more thing, I have heard of people over oiling the k&n filters and having problems with that. Might try taking the filters off and see if it will rev just sitting there.

Hope it helps some
