new a-arms
#1
i recently broke one of my a-arms and was wondering what i should get? i never really looked at a-arms before, so who is best and what's a good price? i will probably go with a little wider a-arm. thanks.

i don't really have a big budget, but i would rather save and get quality rather than buying something cheap that will break. i will probably get +2/+1. i was reading about ball joints and hemi ball joints or something? which is better? which company is known to be stronger? thanks.

I don't know a whole lot about the different companies that offer a-arms but have heard good things about Alba Procomp A-Arms. These are what I am saving for. What does everyone else think about these?

Cheapest is Works Shocks. They they also are the lowest performing. They might be fine for what you plan to do.
Some decent more expencive shocks are Elka (my choice) Axis (way expencive) Peps, and TCS.
The Alba procomps are good arms. I also believe Swytak on these forums makes his own. He is a lot cheaper and from what i have heard they are good arms. Send him a PM.
My roomate and I are actually going to give building our own a shot. We are building regular +2's for our 400ex's first and then some long travel ones later that use 19" shocks.

bartlettracing, you helped me a lot! thanks! i do ride in the mud and now i am glad to know that. i don't really plan on extending the rear end, but you never know. thanks again. riznaptor, is swytak still a member? i pm'd him before and still no response. my cousin has a 400ex and he also broke his a-arm, so if you get into business building a-arms let me know. good luck.

Bent the hell out of my right upper on my Raptor. I went with Ricky Stator's Upper replacements and last weekend put them to the test. Wacked a tree with my left front rim, rim is trashed stock tie rod end ripped in half(time for Rick Stator Tierods) Ricky Stator A-Arms no problems and held up to the abuse.
