Sorry, but Doug at Nac's is stoned or something if we are talking stock Mikuni carbs. 260 or 270 will burn up your motor. That's WAY, WAY, WAY too lean. We are talking the stock Mikuni carbs right???

I run 320 mains at sea level with similar mods.

A rich plug will be dark brown or black. A good jetted blug is a tan cardboard color up to a light brown chocolate color. A lean plug is greyish or very light tan color or worst of all white.

Still, it sounds like a rich bog but that doesn't seem right with what you told us. There is something wrong and it's probably not a jetting issue but it does sound like a carb issue. Slides on wrong? choke tube missing?? clogged filter or too much oil???

My brother runs an unported Banshee at around sea level with the standard mods less porting and he runs 310's. Doug may very well be stoned.

it had 24:1 yamalube in it, the 310 jet is still in, guys i have it apart and dont know what to do.
i still have the 260s and 270s that doug gave me a bag. should i mess with the needle?
it bogs at 1/3 throttle and up, if i hold it just below 1/3 throttle it screams and feels smooth, powerful and fast.
it idles great, starts 1st kick. plugs are brownish tan, no white gray at all, definately far from black. needle is in the center position right now but i moved it one click leaner, havent tried it yet because i dont want to be to lean........aCK! frustrating.
what should i try, i have no leaks anywhere brand new CLEAN K and N filter with pre filter and no box cover, also, i rode it for a day about 5 days ago and it didnt seem to be doing this....... but now its bog from 1/3 up all the time.
thanx for all the replies, anymore info will help!

its new and was still in the break in period, but about 3 or 4 days ago it ran perfect although i was not going to full throttle because of the break in.
it started after riding about 2 or 3 hours, i just thought it was the plugs but nope. is there a fuel filter and can that be it? its gotta be something dumb.

You bought the bike and did'nt see if it ran clean through the power range? Will it rev higher if you blip the throttle sitting still? I would get a couple cans of brake cleaner and clean the carbs real good. Double check for vacuum leaks and proper slide operation. Jiggle the TORS crap atop the carbs and see if that helps......if it does, the carb top is in need of tightening.
