100mph Rator?
#1
AH HA so the title was eye candy! Now down to buisness, I was reading ATV Sport magazine (August 2001 I think) and in there they have a modified Raptor that they claim goes 100mph with the right sprocket/tire combo. Is this true? and if it is could you guys give me some estimates on how much it would cost? I've been seriously considering a Raptor for the last few months and when I saw this I was astonished. Any input would be helpful.
Thanks, QuadMaster2000

It would not be that difficult to get to a 100 but the rappy gets to be a handful after 85mph. I know that 14/40 gearing will get mine to 93 mph no problem with still more. (out of room.) If you want to cruise in excess of 80mph get a new ds650 and a few modds.

Raptorman- You ever ridden a rappy at over 85mph?? They are a handful. In know that bomb claim that there DS run at over 80mph in those desert races. The bomb is bigger and wider.
you could make a rappy that will do it but you need 6 to 8 inches on the swing arm, wider axle, wider and plus a-arms and lots of power. hell that what i have. I was wrong.
you really need to cut the front fenders to go at high speed on a rappy. I was cruising down the county road a few months back around 80-85 and went around a slight turn in the road. I was crapping bricks by the time i got out of the corner. The wind had drivven me to the far barditch and the fence was fast approaching. All because of the front fenders.
