What would you pay for?
Hey guys,
What would you expect to pay for a 1998 Big Bear 350 4x4 that needs some work.
I'll give ya a rundown on it.
Plastics are red and look fine. No deep scratches, cracks, fading.
The racks are fine, just need to be sanded repainted.
Has a warn 2000lb winch, perfect condition. Works fine.
Has a highlifter lift kit.
Has extended fender kit.
Problems:
Needs new crankcase, crankcase cover, timing chain, front u-joint (doesn't need, but could use a new one).
It also needs a set of rims/tires. He wishes to keep the old set for spare on his new ride.
Why it needs these parts. The starter gears tore up and slung into the crankcase breaking off a few essential pieces inside the case. These can't be welded back on and it's gonna need an entire new case. He already has the new starter gears and everything else was working fine before this happened.
It also has brand new brakes, front and back. The rearend was just redone with new seals.
The 4x4 works fine on it and doesn't have any problems.
It's been sitting up for about 6 months, so it has some surface rust on some parts and just needs to be sanded down and cleaned.
I don't have any pics, but what would you expect to give for something like this?
And what would you expect to give for it if it were in perfect running condition?
Just looking for some input on whether or not I should dive into picking this fixer-up from a friend.

I don't want to dim your hopes here but I can't even see giving a $1,000 dollars with what you have pointed out.
I went to KBB.com to see what retail was in perfect shape and they come up with $3,350
Just looks like a big problem and you might spend more than what its worth wholesale.
