Default problem starting the raptor when she's cold!!!

hey guys, i just bought a rappy two weeks ago. Every single morning/day when i go to start her she wont, unless i push it or put the battery on the charger for 15 minutes, then it fires right up. i do not think that it is the battery because i had it charged at a yamaha dealer. the next morning same thing. once i get my rappy going it will start all day for me fine. has anyone else run into this problem? it is modded out quite a bit. i think that the jetting is on, but am not sure. the guy i bought if from suggested maybe a floater is stuck? i dont know. any suggestions?!?! thanks!

Well, if your needing to charge the battery to get it started thats obviously the problem. Something is draining the battery, check wires and whatever else that might be draining it.

does it spin over at all?
freely and then come to aclanking halt?
free spin and never catch
spin over slowly and stop
have your battery load tested before it is charged

it spins freely and does not catch. the guy at the yamaha place said it tested positive 1, he then charged it for a few hours and said it is in the green section now. what that means i have not a clue. how do i go about checking my wires?

hmmm.....dont know. the starter spins, everything sounds like it is turning correctly but it is not firing. i dont know. it is just a drag to get her started by pushing it or putting the battery on the charger.

Try disconnecting the battery over night. If it starts when you hook it up in the morning something on the quad is draining it. If you have to jump it or charge the battery to start it again than I'd say you need a battery.

well this weekend we had pretty nice weather. on both days when i went to start it in the after noon it fired right up. i did not disconnect the battery either time. i was planning on doing that saturday night but when it started saturday day after not being started for two or three days i figured it wasnt the battery. it is a little colder today so i dont expect it to start. we will see though.
