Default New pipe!!!

I ordered a Pro Circuit T-4 , Pro flow filter kit , K&N jet kit. I have done a search on jetting. There are a blue million settings and opinions.I am considering putting 4 or 5 1 inch holes in my lid. My thinking was if I get it jetted right for my altitude, 1000Ft above sea level, when I go to the mountains to ride I can take the lid off to allow enough air in to hopefully not have to rejet. Will this work?

Also would like to hear jetting opinions on my particular situation from some of you who I am sure know more about it than me.

2002 Raptor
Pro Circuit T-4 Slip on
Pro Flow Filter Kit ( 4 or 5 Holes in the lid)
K&N Jet Kit
1000 Ft. Above Sea Level. Thanks,
James

Thats a good plan Stan! I leave my bike open down here at around sea level then have to completely re-jet to get my quad to run right...Stay with stock pilots 150/155 MIKUNI mains(or equivilant) and third notch up on a dynojet needle start your a/f screws out at about 21/2turns out 23/4turns out

Mind you this is a starting point only...one of the pleasures of owning a raptor is disputing the best setting...any problems once it installed should be able to be cured after one re-jet

Let us know how you like the Pro Circuit pipe, I was thinking about ordering that one too, but I haven't decided for sure.

Default New pipe!!!

I have the T-4 and the K&N power kit which is the K&N stock replacement filter and Dynojet kit. I just trimmed the snorkle. I am very pleased with the results. I wouldn't say that there was much of a seat of the pants improvement although some. What I will say is that when racing up Ols at glamis or buttercup, I was able to pull on all stock Raptors and most full exhaust and slip on Raptors. Jetting and gearing are the keys to success!!!!

I currently am running one jetting recommendation higher than dynojets recommendation for the main jet which I think is 146, 148. I also run one notch leaner on the needle from their recommendations. My elevation is around 1200 ft. When I go to the Cinders which is 7000 ft, I cut a large hole in the airbox lid which works pretty well, but I think I still need more air. When I ride locally, I place lots of duct tape to cover the whole. Before I go back to the Cinders, I'm going to put vents in the sides of the box also.
