Just had a drag race yesterday with my brothers (My old) Lt500 Quadracer. We ran them last year When I had just slip on pipe and jetted. He beat me pretty good, I took the hole shot but he just powered by and kept pulling away. He did the exact same thing to my other brothers DS 650. And we were constantly reminded of this!

Just to set the stage...Over the winter I had a Hotcam Stage 1 installed and an 11-1 piston Pro-Flow adapter No lid and a Full pipe. His quad has a Wiesco 20 over piston, trinity pipe FMF ram valve and mild porting!

Fast forward to yesterday...

We lined them up on a long dirt/gravel straight. On our first attempt I let him start it and as soon as he moved I hit it and the front end went straight up..LOL He saw this and stopped right away. We went back a little further down the rode to start again. This time I let him start again and as he took off I eased into it this time feathering the clutch out so it would not come straight up. He was a little ahead maybe a half quad length but when I hit 2nd gear I just blew right by and kept pulling, when he realized he had no chance of winning he backed right off as he started getting pelted by rocks..(I had already kicked one up earlier and broke his headlight)!

The best part about this is not having to hear about him having the fastest quad anymore! Well at least until he upgrades!

I had also raced my Buddy's Canondale cannibal down this same dirt rode and had similar results.

Hey that's awesome......power to beat a 2 stroke monster....and you don't have to break your leg starting yours too.......Have you done a (2002-spec) tranny upgrade???

 

Unfortunately not yet. But I think I will be! Hit a nuetral for the first time going from first to second twice yesterday and that has never happened before! 02 Gears here I come!

Naw he wouldn't have kept going we just wanted to see which was faster not who could win the race.

Probably about 200'-400' I just went up from 148-150 DJ to 165-170 DJ. Pro-Flo no lid 27.5 Pilots, 3 turns out, DJ Needles 3rd clip.

I think he needs to send his motor back to whoever ported it and demand they really port it this time. That or he has crap for compression. You better not **** him off though, he might turn that thing into a monster and make you sorry.

Well RaceWarrior350 my bro(JaptorRider660r) is telling the truth.......
But that was just one run and I had just put on a new pipe and have not even jetted it yet and left the airbox lid on......plus it was the first time I rode my bike in like 6 months.......
soon as I do MY tweekin we will line um up again and see what happens..........
Till then I hide in shame........lol
