Need a lil help adjusting banshee carbs
#1
Banshee is running a little rough today... Its a stock setup with crappy T.O.R.S. on top of the carbs.
Seems to be smoking more on the right cylinder and the right plug is blackish in color. Left-side looks a little
lean and plug is whitish to tan. I noticed a little popping on the left side. Idling is poor and cuts out every
once in a while.
Question is... How do I adjust my carbs? Anyone got any tips on getting the job done?
Thanks Guys,

Oh boy.... That's a bigger question than you may realize. I'll do the quickie version:
Disconnect the TORS box - left side, under the tank in the front of the machine.
Synch your carbs.
See how it runs.
If it runs poorly still then take the carbs off and check float level and make sure everything is clean and your pilots aren't clogged.
Check for air leaks.
Change the plugs if you suspect them.
Sorry to be brief but a search will giove more info than I could type in a day.

Wyoduner,
Can I ask you to be more specific about syncing the carbs? Are you just talking about making sure the
screws are turned out the same number of turns?
BTW - I thoroghly enjoyed the video clips on your website.

Well, since you liked the vids on my site...
Take off your airfilter and get a flashlight. Look in from the airbox to the carbs and you will see the slides. On top of each TORS assembly you will see a big screw. Turn each one until the slides just stop going down - they should be bottommed out on the carbs now and not being held up by the throttle cable/TORS. Press a little on the throttle to make sure that each slide starts moving up at the same time. Start the quad and adjust each screw on top of the TORS units the same amount until you get a nice idle - let it warm up first. That's pretty much it. Take a look again to make sure the slides both start moving at the same time and if it is all good stick the air filter back on and see how it runs.
You are now synced.

Hey, no sweat. I forgot to mention that you should look at the little site glasses near the tops of the carbs to make sure both slides are going all the way up and at the same time.
Later.
Later.
