I also have out ran a cr500 with my raptor in about 400 ft. It seemed like if it would have been a real long run he may have gotten me. Thats just my experience. After mine is back together this time; it should be a lot faster and then I would like to try it again in along run to see how big of improvement my additional motor work did for the bike. SLIM

all 250's will smoke these quads like they're standing still, but eventually the quads will take them on top speed. My YZ (Stock gearing) can go from stop to top speed on a straight in under 10 seconds, but then again, top speed only feels like about 50 mph.

there is something wrong with your yz if it takes you 10 seconds to get to 50?
My truck will do 0-50 and back to 0 in 10seconds............
and my raptor will smoke my truck.......

I should of said any CR250 will smoke any STOCK sport quad, you can't really compare your modded to the moon quads to a stock CR250. Lets the CR250 or CR500 put $5000 worth of mods on it and see who eats who's roost! lol

definetly go with the cr 500 because it is a 2 stroke. Take a look at the banshee vs. raptor. the banshee always wins because it is a 2 stroke

Even if a 690 could beat a CR500, thats like saying a mustang with 20 grand in motor work can keep up with a stock hayabusa. Big whoop.
