Description:
I live in Alaska, in the Matanuska Valley. The trails range from 12' wide smooth trails to almost straight up and down.I have a 2002 Yamaha Grizzly 660 that is slightly modified.I have removed the Sway Bar. This does give much more articulation to the whole bike. I think it may help greatly in keeping all 4 tires on the ground in technical sections of the trail.I have replaced the factory rubber with 28" 589's. I chose these because I wanted a compromise between the super-aggressive mudder tires with a bad ride and the passive trail tires. They are not the best muddin' tires you can get, but they are certainly impressive. I have not had any problems with rubbing on the over-sized tires. On the other hand, I don't do a lot of high-speed riding anymore, no jumps, etc. Maybe that makes a difference.I have modified the cowling as you can see in the pics. I did this for heat-management. I find it works quite nicely.I have also added the aluminum bumper-guard. Since this machine doesn't really have a front bumper this give just a little more beef up front. (The factory calls it 'grab handles' instead of a front bumper.)I really enjoy the power of the machine. It will do some awesome things. In fact, I am sure it is a more capable as a machine than I am as a rider.
