Kawasaki Introduces the Newest Race Ready ATV – the KFX450R

By: Tiffany Tudyk

undefinedThe newest addition to the Team Green Machines is the all new 2008 KFX 450R, a high performance machine ready to ride and race. With the most innovative additions to a stock machine, only a few aftermarket additions are offered.

Originally modeled off the powerful and renowned KX 450 motorcross engine, it was no surprise that Kawasaki took and modified it into the ATV’s newest top motor. A key feature of the fuel-injected engine is a greater amount of torque in the low and medium rpm ranges. This is great for the whole shot and acceleration out of corners. A durable forged piston and lightweight titanium exhaust header and pipe come stock on this lean machine.

New is the all aluminum frame chassis, forged in all those places that tend to bend, crack or break. Competition gear includes superior suspension. The front suspension design has integrated the long lower A-arms mounted to a single box-section lower frame tube with coil-over shocks and 8.5 inches of travel. Flexibility from the rear aluminum swingarm is mounted to a piggyback reservoir shock giving 10 inches of travel. The chassis has a lower center of gravity for racers and is great on a track with lots of rough surfaces or dunes. Additionally, new for Kawasaki and this sport class is a reverse gear.

Kawasaki states, “This is the easiest bike to work on, so riders can concentrate on winning and not wrenching.” The front and rear fenders can be replaced separately if damaged. Color choices include Lime Green, Bright White/Super Black, and Super Black.
