Meet the Polaris Rampage

Operation NUNALIVUT
Imagine it- you’re tasked with patrolling the Arctic Circle. You need ATVs that truly fit the description “All Terrain”. Conditions include ice, open water, slush, snow, marsh and mud. This is the exact situation the Canadian Army finds itself in and they’re currently in the process of putting some of the world’s most capable ATVs through their paces to determine which are up to the task.

One of the entries turning heads comes from Polaris. Calling it the Rampage, this tracked monster is said to be completely amphibious as well. It’s already been called into action in fact: Polaris Rampage, an amphibious, all-terrain, all-season, global-reach platform, was deployed in support of Canadian Operation Nunalivut in the North Pole.

The Canadian Operation Nunalivut is a sovereignty operation conducted annually since 2007 in Canada’s North. It provides an opportunity for the Canadian Armed Forces to:

-Assert Canada’s sovereignty over its northernmost regions
-Demonstrate the ability to operate in the harsh winter environment in remote areas of the High Arctic
-Enhance its capability to respond to any situation

Operation Nunalivut also allows the CAF to provide meaningful support to scientific research in the Arctic, and to demonstrate interoperability in the High Arctic with military allies and other Canadian government institutions.

Polaris off-road vehicles continue to display the prowess of innovation, is leading the way in off-road vehicle engineering and is providing capable vehicles for climates such as the North Pole and Arctic. A workhorse, the Polaris Rampage is still a prototype that could become the ultimate off-road vehicle for the next generation.
