Question artic cat 2008 650 H1

I was riding the other day and stopped for a break. When I turned the key on everything was dead. I checked the fuses and the ignition fuse was blown. I replaced it and turned the key on. It blew the fuse right away and several fuses later I gave up. I talked with a friend of mine and he said to check the wiring harnes for damage and contact against the frame. Does not seem to be the problem. Any ideas?

I think your friend is correct. Sure sounds like a wiring short. I would start by checking under the instrument POD and where all the wires congregate and go down the steering column.

The wires there move when you turn and if not properly protected can easily rub through and ground out.

The other place to look is to follow the wiring harness from the battery along the frame and look for places it may be pinched between the palstics and the frame.

Only other thing I can suggest is to take your time and make sure to follow every wire. Know ahead of time that finding wiring shorts, though not always difficult to find, they are always frustrating.

A wiring diagram may be helpful as it sounds like your short is on the ignition side of things. (fuse blows when you turn key on).
