1986 BIG RED ATC 250ES: No Neutral light, Won'T Start on Kick Start, Tailights only?
I just bought a 1986 ATC 250ES Big Red and whe you turn the key on you have no neutral light, if you turn the lights on the tailights work but the headlight doesn't work on high or low ( haven't checked the bulb ) and when I rock it front and back in engage reverse it doesn't illuminate the reverse light, also I tried kicking the bike over with the key in the on position and the bike won't start also I made sure the safety kill switch was in the RUN position, could this but the ignition that's gone, I'm not really sure cause the tailights work with the key in the on position, any help or suggestions would be GREAT thanks.

hi I can't type but humor me. you do NOT need the battery to work at all for it to run. The battery can be 10 feet away from teh bike. key on, kill switch on and kick it and check for spark Neutral is all the way down, right? 5 up? you are gonna LOVE this bike more than anything on the planet if not, I could really use one more try 3WHeeLeR WoRLD - Forums, Brochures, Specificiations, Technical Assistance, and More! for wire diagrams drjoe171@juno.com

Fixed it:
The headlight bulb was blown in High and Low beam, I ended up taking out my Multimeter and checking the wireharness, found the problem, it was the wire going to the neutral switch by the foot brake, hooked it up and the bike started right up, thanks for the help Jody
