Outlaw 50 4-stroke starting problem
Hi guys - so the used 2010 50 I bought had some issues starting. I cleaned the carb and it started right up, no choke needed. Repeated this several times on different days always started right up and ran smoothly.
Yesterday, I started it and rode it down the driveway and it died when I got to the end. I realized I had left the fuel valve in the shut position
Well, I opened the valve but still it wouldn't start. Checked the plug, looked clean but tried a different plug, sprayed starter fluid into intake, it will start and run for like 3 seconds then dies.
It seems like it's not getting fuel??? It's a gravity fed system right so what else can I do? If the float bowl fills with gas after I drain it, I can assume that it is getting gas so just curious what could have happened between when it was running great and the current state. I drained the float bowl yesterday but didn't have time to check if it refills or not, the gas in it could have been from before the problem started.
I guess there could have been some crud in the gas tank that re-clogged the idle circuit? Trying to avoid pulling the carb again if there is anything that I'm missing?

pull the fuel line off the carb and get fuel running to that point, then loosen the drain on the bowl and get fuel to that point.. I have seen them have issues trying to move air down the line. I have had to actually put a spare fuel line on hooked to a squeeze bottle and squeeze the fuel in to get the air out
