Default Dust cap removal

I am trying to get the front dust cap off but it won't pop off. Working it around with a screw driver but I don't want to mutilate it too bad. Am I missing something?

O-rings sometimes swell up if caps has been on a while and hard to remove without gouging the cap.Might be time for new o rings along with caps if you can't save it. 21,22.Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Polaris, Suzuki & Kawasaki OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Funny enough that's why I want it off. Is to change the o rings. Was wondering if I can get it spinning in the hub if that would help. Just got 3/4 foot of snow so won't be at it again for a couple days.
