Default Wheel studs for Suzuki LT230s

I was hoping someone could help me out. A buddy of mine is a machinist. For a bottle of grey goose, He agreed to make me spacers for my ATV. It is a 1986 Suzuki lt230s quad sport. I was able to give him the bolt pattern and the specifics on how i wanted them. The spacer is going to bolt directly on to the hub and then he is going to drill new holes and press new studs in there so the wheel can bolt on to the spacer. The problem is i do not know the size of the studs or where i can get them. All the places that sell them say i have to buy the whole hub. Does anyone know the stud sizes for the front and rear tires.. I know they are both different.

you cant buy longer wheel studs for a 230s unless you buy the wheel spacer kit from Durablue. and truthfully you dont want to use spacers, they are weak and if you go ramping the studs will be to weak to take many hard landings. i've seen tires fly off quads in races from the long wheel studs failing.

i would extend the A arms or buy a better set of rims from Douglas. a douglas 10x6 rim has a +2+4 offset and really widens the stance in the front. and a 86' lt250r rear axle will widen the rear tires

both of those options are safer than spacers.

Thanks for the advice Trailrider230s. I think I will go with that. I have been reading alot about how the spacers arent very reliable. I just wasnt very sure.

I agree with spacers not being the best option for a sport quad. I put 1" spacers on the back of my son's 300ex, great for trail riding, but then he started to jump driveways and ditches, made one off center landing, and it bent the axle just behind the hub, the spacers act like a lever putting more stress farther out from the axle, so the impact from jumping that would not have affected a stock axle was amplified by the wheel being farther out from the hub. Now i am replacing an axle, luckily I found a good used Durablue extended axle on eBay.
