Default 2000 quadmaster help

I need some help with a 2000 quadmaster 500. The engine will start fine and idles good when you first start it. It will run good at all rpm for about the first 5 minutes. After that it starts to miss and it will eventually stall. The muffler glows orange. I have had the carburetor completely apart and soak it twice in berrymans carb cleaner. I have checked the valve adjustment. When it quits I still have spark gonig to the plug. I have the service manual and did all of the tests that I can. I do not have a peak voltage adapter to do those tests. I did find that the regulator/rectifier tests show it as being bad. I am not sure that it will cause the problems I have. If someone believes the recrifier regulator is the problem then please back it up with some factual information as I am not one to just change parts on a whim. Any other ideas please let me know.

Look for a vacuume leak and maby a restriction in the muffler. With the carb cleaned I believe you still have a problem with your air/fuel ratio.

If your exhaust is glowing it's running way too lean. Check for air leaks between the carb and engine (not sure if that model has a rubber boot or not).
