Default 99 Sport 400 no spark?

so i just reinstalled the motor in my sport 400 and went well until i ran into this. tested the stator, CDI, wiring, the only thing out of wack was the stator. so i ordered a stator and a CDI for the heck of it.

anything else i should check?

thanks!

Sounds like you have it covered if the stator and cdi are good quality items. Some aftermarket cheap Chinese parts are a gamble as far as reliability. If you still don't have spark after installing them, pull the black kill wire from the cdi and check for spark. If it does then ignition switch, left control switch, or their wiring can can be at fault.

Replaced both CDI and stater, and pulled reverse limiter and kill switch - nothing. tried to swap another coil, still nothing. checked wiring with voltage meter, nothing. anything else i should try? this thing is giving me a headache.

Yes,I'd test the resistance specs from the manual on the Chinese stator and exciter coil even if they are new.If they check out, could be the cdi. Try using the old one and see what happens also.

No good tests for the cdi. That's why they have tests on the stator and coil.If they pass it's usually a cdi. Glad you found the problem.
