Exclamation 2004 Yamaha Grizzly 350 Shifter Problems

Hi I have a 2003 Yamaha grizzly 350 it worked great for the past few years. However, in recent year it wouldn't engage into gear unless I put it into reverse. And now the shifter won't even move from neutral. The engine starts up fine and everything is running good, but the shifter won't won't engage.

Please help!!!!!

Thank you,

Yamaha has a "safety" mechanism that requires the operator to apply the rear brake when shifting from one gear position to another.

Many people by pass it because it gets out of adjustment over time and makes shifting a chore to impossible.

Here is how its done on a 660 Grizzly the principle of a 350 should be fairly the same.
