Of course, this is in the Yamaha section, so there may be some biased opinions here, but trying not to be one-sided, my vote is for the Blaster - they are cheap, easy to work on, parts are plentiful, parts are cheap, etc, etc...........Parts are as cheap as anything out there. The LT250 can be cheap, and they're easy to work on, but parts are not as plentiful or as cheap as the Blaster's. The 2003 - up Blasters had disc brakes, so one of those would be much better than the older models, the old drum brakes suck.

Pick two Cheap and fast, LT. Cheap and more likely to be reliable, Blaster. Cheap, fast, and reliable look for a well maintained Honda 250R.

At some of the local events that I race at I still see people racing both the Quadracer 250 and the Blaster. Both are nice quads but the Quadracer 250 is in a different class than the Blaster when it comes to power, it was made to compete with the Honda 250R.With that being said the Blaster will probably be the easiest and cheapest of the two to build, but not the fastest, because it was in production longer and probably more popular than the Quadracer 250.I think that the Quadracer 250 was only in production from 1985 to 1992 while the Blaster was in production from 1988 to 2006.
Here's some old articles that I have on both quads.

agreed....the Yamaha Blaster is a "blast" to ride...plenty of power for a 200cc....plenty of aftermarket parts..lots of upgrades available...Ive had 3 of them...easy builds...i recommend a big bore kit if nothing else.........and an extended swingarm.....the wheelbase on the blaster is a little small for larger riders
