Reverse light stays on and no 4wd
So I got this 04 Kodiak 450 in non-running condition from my bro in-law. I got it running and driving but the reverse indicator light stays on. I traced it to the neutral switch under the air filter housing. When I try and drive it the motor sputters like it's in reverse. Both the high range and reverse lights are on at this point. My question is, is there any way that the reverse light staying on would cause my 4wd lock-up not to engage? I can get the 4wd limited slip to engage perfectly but when I push the yellow button the light on the cluster just keeps flashing. I'm trying to figure it out so I don't have to keep ordering and waiting on parts. Thanks.

After tinkering with it tonite I was able to get the reverse light to go out. I am still having the diff lock problem. When I release the yellow button I cannot hear the servo engaging like it does when I push the red button. Is there anything in particular that I can check that deals with just the diff lock? I have the manual but it doesn't split up 4wd and diff lock for troubleshooting.
