Seat covers & sprockets
Hi guys,
I'm finally getting ready to sell our two Warriors, and I want to address their major issues. That includes tie rod ends on one, rear axle bearings on the other, seats, and chains.
I'm warning you, the pictures are really, really ugly and depressing. I was in elementary school when we got the ATVs so I didn't know how to take care of them, and my parents stopped riding the Warriors for several years while I putted around on my Lakota fairly regularly. The first 15+ years that we had the Warriors, they were outside either under a piece of plywood or uncovered. I did invest in ATV covers for them a couple years ago, but the damage is done.
Anyway, one seat cover is practically nonexistent now, and the other has a huge hole in it. Even the foam has disintegrated or has been getting eaten away by the mice. I'm wondering if it would be worth re-covering those seats or if they're too far gone. Also, I'm going to replace both chains, and probably the sprockets. I'm a n00b when it comes to sprocket inspection so please bear with me, but I'm also wondering if these sprockets should be replaced. I'm thinking they should be... maybe you're screaming at the screen that I'm a freaking idiot and need to get them replaced NOW, but like I said... I haven't dealt with enough of these to know what's OK and what's not, so thanks for your help!
And yes, the seat covers are swapped between the two! For a while, one was significantly better than the other....

Regarding the seats, any good local upholsterer should be able to re-cover the seats, using new foam, for half the price of a new seat. I don't work on chain drive Quads much so can't say on your sprockets, they don't look too bad, but some people always fit new ones when they fit a new chain, as worn sprockets will shorten a new chain's life.
