Weekly Used ATV Deal: Yamaha Tri-Z 250
Winter is here but the off-season usually means good deals on on previously-loved equipment. Your editors, as always, are digging through SprocketList to make some off-season riding a reality without breaking the piggy bank.
That said, this week’s ad takes us to a place called Sudbury, AL.
According to the listing, this is a 1985 Yamaha Tri-Z liquid cooled 250 2-stroke 3-wheeler.
Here’s an interesting fact, back in the mid 1980s every one of the Japanese manufacturers got on board the 250cc liquid cooled 2-stroke 4-wheeler scene except for Yamaha (Honda had the 250R, Suzuki the LT250R Quad Racer and Kawasaki the Tecate 4). The Tri-Z marks Yamaha’s one and only entry into the then-premiere 250cc class and thanks to fairly small production runs, has become incredibly sought-after throughout the years.
This particular example looks pristine and is validated by the seller, who says it “has been parked for 17 years”
He’s asking $2550 and is not currently considering trades.
