Polaris predator 50 brake switch and electric start question
I'm working on a predator 50 and when I release the brake after I start it, the quad dies. Kickstart only works, previous owner said he replaced the starter and coil. If I unplug and jump the brake switch sensor, it will start with the kickstart and run but I can't get electric start to fire. Was wondering if maybe it has something to do with the brake switch.

You need to get the wiring diagram. Sounds like someone has messed the wiring up. Bikes often need the brake light to be on for the start button to work but if it needs the brake to be on for the ignition, I would guess an earth wire is bad, but that is just a guess. Maybe the earth lead was connected to a starter mounting bolt (they often are) and previous owner left it off when fitting the new starter.

Yes I verified that the ground wire is connected to the starter and the starter does look new.
the wiring has definitely been messed with, the tether was removed also. Brand new battery and the horn works so im getting oower to the switch.
Theres a plug that isnt connected on the left side frame that is a green wire and a orange wire with a green plug. It's taped to frame heading towards the rear of the bike right after gas tank??

Does the solenoid click when you press the start button with ignition and brake on? Afraid I don't know the Predator 50 so can't give advice other than generic. As I wrote above, get the wiring diagram and, if the solenoid isn't clicking, trace and test the start button and solenoid circuits.
