The Miami Police Department just got a new set of wheels. Three of them to be exact!

And while the new custom Slingshot is equipped with police lights and a siren, motorists can breathe easy as the unit will not be used in patrol but rather as a promotional tool in the community. Particularly as a tool to break down barriers between the Miami youth and the police department.

Amazingly it’s not even the only one-of-a-kind vehicle within the police department. Last month, the department tricked out a decommissioned patrol car with a colorful graffiti-inspired makeover for community events.

Bonus Fact: Polaris Slingshot donated the roadster to the police department, Whelen Engineering provided the emergency equipment and the vehicle was customized by Miami auto designer Alex Vega, whose Kendall shop The Auto Firm donated the Avorza Rims.
