Polaris Innovates the UTV Scene Again

Side-by-side and UTV enthusiasts are likely already aware of Polaris’ undeniable penchant for innovation but even still, the American company’s latest development deserves a closer look.

Until now side-by-side riders have been forced to come up with some, um, backyard mechanic engineering if they wished to carry more than a single passenger.  Polaris, in the form of their new Robby Gordon Edition RZR 4, have once again shaken things up with the first ever factory-made 4-seater UTV.

Featuring the same rear-engine design and performance of the standard RZR (and RZRS- sand edition), the new RZR 4 comes in at a weight of 1,255 pounds, making it lighter than many leading two-seater models!  Horespower comes in at a healthy 55 ponies, which results in a top speed of 61 mph!

Also like the RZRS, the 4 features 12-inches of suspension/ ground clearance in the form of all new Fox Podium X 2.0 piggyback reservoir shocks (with dual rate springs in the rear).  Twenty-six inches have been added to the to the wheelbase with twenty-four inches added to the length.  Front upper A-arms are chromoly for increased steering precision and a beefy rear anti-sway bar comes standard to keep the machine good and level even when the terrain isn’t.

Rear passengers aren’t left out either, with a chassis designed to offer ample headroom and an exclusive handrail for support when things get wiggly.  Just like with the individuals up front, the rear passengers get their own 12-volt plug and two cup-holders.  All four bucket seats are completely interchangeable and each offers four inches of front-rear adjustability.  As you might expect, each seat gets its own protective netting to keep all occupants safely within the vehicle at all times.

The RZR 4 can be identified even at a glance thanks to a black, white and blue color scheme with the “Robby Gordon” off road logo on the front sides.  The Robby Gordon RZR 4 lists for ,999 and is available now at select Polaris dealerships.
