The Mint 400 in Vegas is in the books.

RIGID Industries-backed drivers Kyle Jergensen and Ronnie Anderson battled to victory in The Mint 400 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jergensen secured his second Unlimited Truck SPEC class win in three years at The Mint, and took second-place overall, competing against the higher-horsepower Unlimited Trucks in the event’s main race. Anderson achieved a class win in the Pro Open UTV class and clinched the Overall Limited Race Win, beating all other competitors in faster classes.

After qualifying in the 31st position, Jergensen rapidly picked his way through the field to the front of the pack in his new Camburg-built RIGID Industries-sponsored “Beast” Unlimited Truck SPEC racer. A battle quickly developed for the overall win between Jergensen and Adam Householder’s Unlimited Truck. Householder enjoyed a significant horsepower advantage with no restrictions on engine size or output compared to the “spec” engines of the Unlimited Truck SPEC class. However, Jergensen was able to run with Householder for most of the 400-mile race, eventually taking the Unlimited Truck SPEC class win and crossing the finish line just over 10 minutes behind Householder for second overall. It was a remarkable feat for Jergensen in a truck with almost half the horsepower.

Anderson was 13th off the start line in his class with 400 miles of open desert ahead of him. He quickly pushed his NOS Energy Polaris ProR through the rough terrain and made passes early on in the race, which continued through the race day. As the race played out, Anderson battled for the top spot in his class on corrected time going into the last tap. Anderson was the first UTV across the finish line and secured not only first in class but Overall Limited Race Win.

Dubbed “The Great American Off-Road Race,” the multi-day The Mint 400 is one of the most prestigious and historic desert races in the U.S. Initially started in 1968 as a public relations stunt during the Mint Hotel’s annual deer hunt, The Mint 400 quickly became a top-tier desert race. Celebrities and the fastest racers from all genres of motorsports flocked to the race with hopes of winning. Today, that still rings true, with over 500 off-road racers taking on The Mint 400’s rugged and punishing terrain just outside of Sin City.
