    The journey began in the early 1990’s when an man named Bill Vasconi needed an easier way to transport and utilize his optical and photographic equipment while riding and hunting in the backcountry of Nevada. He required flexibility, versatility and ease-of-use. So out of his necessity, he invented an ultra-sturdy mounting device that could attach right to his ATV’s cargo rack.

This invention captured everything Bill was after, plus it gave him infinite positioning capability (something no other product available could do). After being told by many that his mounting device was clever, unique and much more versatile than monopods, bipods or tripods he decided to patent it. He applied for his patent in 1997 and received it in March 1999.

Bill’s extraordinary mounting device entered its second phase of development when he met Roy Reeves on a hunt near Ely, Nevada. Roy was so impressed with the device he asked Bill if he and his son, Rollie, could manufacture and market it to other outdoor enthusiasts. Being thrilled at this opportunity, Bill agreed and Reeves Product Development, LLC [RPD] was established in Grand Rapids, Michigan. First, RPD refined and modified the unit, enabling it to be manufactured and marketed in large volumes. They also developed numerous accessories enabling the product to be mounted on a variety of surfaces and objects. Next, they needed a name that would capture the many uses and true nature of the product. The words Steady and Mount kept topping the list. Finally, the two words were combined, and SteadyMount� was born. Merriam Webster’s� Dictionary defines “steady” as “a: direct or sure in movement: UNFALTERING b: firm in position�” We define SteadyMount� as the only optical and photographic mounting device you will ever need, or want for that matter. In late 2001 the SteadyMount� was ready for a national marketing and distribution effort and RPD was in a position to partner with an established company to undertake this effort on their behalf. They were looking for a corporation that had a strong marketing department, specialized in outdoor & motor sports industry accessories, and had a well-known product that the SteadyMount� could ride the wave of success with. Equally important, RPD was searching for a distributor that was small enough to dedicate the time and effort necessary for marketing this distinctive product.

In early 2002, the SteadyMount� was introduced to La Boite, Inc. also of the Grand Rapids area, which appealed to both companies. They had a strong dealership base (carrying Tamarack� ATV Accessories) and felt confident that they could market this product to their nearly 1,500 dealers. La Boite, Inc. began planning a marketing strategy almost immediately. After putting together lifestyle packages to suit consumers of all types, a dynamic website, and product literature, La Boite was ready to launch the product in August 2002.

La Boite, Inc. has the exclusive right to distribute the SteadyMount to the motor sports industry, but they are not limited to this market. They also distribute to a broader range of markets, including: camera shops, government agencies, mail order catalogues and websites, chain and specialty stores, etc. This gets the SteadyMount� into more peoples’ hands. It is such a versatile product La Boite, Inc. knew that it was only reaching the tip of the iceberg and RPD was enthusiastic about the possibility of explosive growth by having La Boite, Inc. distribute to these other markets as well.

Because the SteadyMount� is equipped with a standard 3-way Pan-Head, you can mount any optical or photographic device that has a standard 1/4-20 threaded receiving insert on its bottom side.

That means your spotting scopes, binoculars (with our binocular adapter-see Accessories), 35mm and digital camera and video cameras too.

Positioning

The combination of the ball joints, arms and 3-way Pan-Head allow you to rotate and maneuver the unit in any direction your application may require. Thus giving you total flexibility and infinite positioning capability.
