It is the most Powerful Grizzly ever; the 686cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke engine has the best power-to-weight ratio of any utility model in the industry. Electronic fuel injection makes cold starts, at any temperature or altitude, a no problem situation. A push button start and a five-position shift lever on the Ultramatic transmission make this the easiest utility ATV to drive.
Exclusive to this Grizzly is a three position On-Command In/Out 4WD feature; it lets the driver switch between 2WD, Limited Slip 4WD or fully locked differentials – all with the push of a button. Another exclusive feature is the electronic power steering system, which is great on long excursions.
The front and rear both have independent double wishbone suspension. 7.1 inches of travel is in the front while the rear has 9.5 inches of travel. There are 5-way preloaded shocks on the front and rear for a controlled ride on any trail conditions. With the independent suspension the Grizzly has a high ground clearance of 11.8 inches. Large Dunlop tires – front AT25x 8-12 and AT25x 10-12 rear – have lightweight aluminum wheels that give a luxurious ride on the trail.
This is the ultimate outfitter’s ATV; front cargo racks can hold 100 pounds and 187 pounds on the rear rack. Under the seat are a 5.3-gallon fuel tank and a 4.8-liter waterproof storage compartment. Heading back after the sun has long set isn’t a problem with the dual 35W Halogen multireflector headlights. The multi function display panel has a speedometer, odometer, dual tripmeters, hourmeter, 4WD status, transmission position, clock and fuel gauge. Overall, this has to be the trickest utility ATV that Yamaha has ever built.
