Dear ATVC: I have a 2012 750 Brute Force that has intermittent fits and dies like turning the key off. after it cools off over night it good for another 60 km,s. Do I’m looking for an interface cable for my code reader. Google was no help.
The answer to this one is completely dependent upon what type of code reader you’re running. Automotive readers aren’t compatible with ATV units (which are sometimes also used in motorcycle and snowmobile diagnostics).
Generally your ATV diagnostic scanner will use a cord like the one shown to attach directly to the ATV’s wiring harness.
Honestly, your best bet of late is to pick up one of these $50 universal scanners off eBay that include the correct cables for most every major manufacturer for about the cost of a single connection cable alone.
