Ask The Editors: The Search for a 525XC
Dear ATVC:
Does KTM even import the 525XC to the US anymore? I want one bad! I live in Ohio and wondered if you guys know where I could find one. Keep in mind I want the XC model so I have reverse. Thanks in advance.

First the bad news- KTM has indeed stopped exporting their ATV line (which consisted of four models: the 450XC, 525XC, 450SX and 505SX) to the United States. In fact, according to our sources, there are only a handful of new units left in Austria.
Now the good news, the used market for this model is surprisingly healthy. We did a simple search on Yakaz and found dozens of solid options, many of which were only a few hours drive from your location (click here for the search results).
Additionally you actually have a few more options if you want the same single-cam KTM engine packages of the XC models linked up to Fox suspension (rather than Ohlins) in the form of the now defunct Polaris Outlaw 450 MXR and the 525 S. There were many more of these models produced than the actual KTM branded models and yes, they both include reverse.
