Ask the Editors: Discontinued Polaris Part Help
Extinct parts support solutions.
We made several calls and indeed – it seems as though the factory has ceased manufacture on a lot of the parts from this era. Which of course means that when dealers and online stores run out of inventory, that’s that.
Does that mean you are totally screwed? Not exactly. You have a couple choices yet at your disposal. First, call your local Polaris dealer and explain to them your dilemma. While they can no longer order you the part from the factory, they often have ATV junkyards around back and just may have a used one they can grab you for a few bucks. They also may be able to point you in the direction of a distributor who may still have some in inventory.
If that yields no results, google up machine shops in your area. Get quotes on having one reproduced. They will likely need you to bring your sprocket it so that they can create a stencil from which to copy. With 3D printing technology and CNC cutting, they would have no trouble making you a direct OEM replacement for not much more than it would cost you to buy the part from the factory.
