Ask the Editors: Fuel Programmer Decisions
You are in luck.

Dear ATVC: I have a 2016 Can-Am 650 Outlander XMR. I just bought a Yoshimura exhaust and am wondering what fuel programmer would be best for it. Sorry in advance if these questions sound stupid but I’m new to fuel injection. Does the programmer have a tune already on it or do you use it to make your own tune?

Actually both type of programmer you describe exist and are available for your machine. You can select which type you prefer based on your budget and degree of comfort in messing around with settings.

Dynojet, for example, makes a Power Commander FC that goes for about $250 where users can literally select between a Power Commander FC preinstalled map, custom-built maps, or even fine tune low, mid or high rpm ranges while sitting on the quad and without plugging into a computer. Standard +/- 10% increments from selected map settings, different ranges are also available using a laptop and the supplied Control Center software.

If this sounds like too much hassle, Weisco offers a Fuel Management Controller for around $200 that is about as plug-n-play easy as it comes with no computer necessary, with air/fuel ratio adjustment presets to select from until you find the optimal combination for your modifications and conditions.
