Ask The Editors: Give Me the Scoop On My Snapper
Technically a Kawasaki powered UTV.

Dear ATVC: A few years ago my dad bought a Snapper Grounds Cruiser (model GC9520KW) from someone he knew. I have bought it from him for work we are doing on our property although I haven’t picked it up yet. The problem is there is hardly no information out there on these things other than some sale ads and owners literature. I’m pretty sure it has a Kawasaki 9.5 horse engine and this one has a hydraulic bed and a differential lock on the rear end but until I get it here that’s about all I know.

I do a lot of my own minor repairs and maintenance on vehicles and mowers and was just looking for information on repairs for this thing. Anybody ever messed with one or have any experience with them?

Vehicles like the Grounds Cruiser, though indeed powered by a Kawasaki engine, slip in between the classification cracks. Sure it’s an off-road machine by its very nature but because it’s typically purchased by grounds crews, stadiums, golf courses and the like, it isn’t marketed as a traditional UTV or side-by-side but instead found in lawn maintenance equipment catalogs.
