Dear ATVC: I need help finding the VIN on my Yamaha Moto 4 250 so I can purchase the right parts for my year and model.
The Yamaha Moto 4 VIN is found stamped on the bottom frame spar just ahead of the left foot peg were you seated on the ATV (the right side if you are facing it).
There you should locate a 17 digit code. Here positions two, four through eight, and ten represent the manufacturer, body style and engine type and the year, respectively. Other digits identify country of manufacture, manufacturing plant and the unit number of production, or serial number.
The tenth digit should give you the year. The year codes begin with “H” for 1987 and follow in sequence for each year following but don’t forget Yamaha skips both the letter “I” and “O” because they could be mistaken for 1 and 0.
