They’ll do the thinking so you don’t have to.

We’ve had smart phones, smart watches and even smart homes for a while now but pretty soon smart suspension is going to be factor in the SxS ranks.

Fox Racing Shox have devised a series of shocks they call iQS that are capable of using sensors and accelerometers to instantly adapt to inertial, steering, braking, and acceleration inputs to actively maximize handling, comfort, and bottom-out resistance for the terrain. These changes will be taking place constantly without requiring any input from the driver- a process Fox calls Live Valve.

Also unique is that while fully adjustable suspension is nothing new – the iQS will put a switch right inside the cockpit to give the driver the ability to choose their preferred damping levels without so much as having to get out of the vehicle.

The only downside to this type of technology is a fairy steep cost of entry – these days it’ll cost around $2,000 per pair. While these shocks may be “smart”, thankfully they can’t receive texts. Yet.
