Ask the Editors: Locating a Service Manual
All of the universal repair maintenance items will apply to both machines but if you really want to make sure to have all of the right specs (think things like torque settings and correct OEM parts numbers) your best bet is to either purchase or download the official Yamaha Service Repair Manual.
Even though Clymer and Haynes make great service manuals, the official Yamaha unit is the one dealerships use to service your machine. They are getting rare, though, for the older models (your 2002 falls in the span of 2001-2005) but Amazon still has print copies in stock for $84. You can find used copies cheaper on eBay or download files for less still.
Also if you are a completionist and want the absolute most thorough service documentation on your machine, there was a supplemental service manual – here’s a copy on eBay for $20.
