I just got my first (used) ATV and understand that my area requires a safety certificate to operate off-road vehicles. My question is, where do I have to go to take this course? My friend says you take it at the dealership where you purchased your ATV but since I got mine used, I’m not even sure where the closest dealer would be.
Good news, according to our research, it looks like you aren’t going to have to “go” anywhere. Students who need to complete an ATV safety course to get their ATV license or safety certificate can now take said training right on their smartphone, tablet or laptop via a site called offroad-ed.com.
There’s no app download needed and all of the necessary criteria takes place right over the web. The training offered at this site is approved by the state agencies responsible for ATV safety education, and it’s the same material that’s taught in classrooms.
Studying at Offroad-ed is always free. Students who must be certified before operating an ATV pay a one-time fee, which is due only if they pass the test.
