ATV Industry Facts: Did You Know?
Michelin wants in.

The brand Camso may not ring any immediate bells for you but they’ve been around since 1982 and boasts being the market leader in rubber tracks for farm equipment, snowmobiles, ATVs and Side-by-Sides. Michelin announced that it has acquired Camso, the Quebec-based manufacturer, in a deal that will allow the two companies to join forces to become the leader in off-the-road (OTR) mobility solutions.

The two companies’ off-the-road (OTR) operations will be combined to form a new division to be managed from Quebec.

As world leader, the new entity will represent more than double the net sales of Camso (which was already reported at $1-billion), supported by 26 plants and approximately 12,000 employees and will benefit from sustainably dynamic markets.

Cooperation between Camso and Michelin researchers will bolster the Group’s innovation capacity in tracks and airless tires and we suspect many of these innovations will be witnessed within our segment of the off-road spectrum.

Bonus Fact: Michelin dropped a cool $1.45-billion to purchase Camso.
