Friday Funny: In Over Their Heads

We here at ATV Connection advocate safety above all else but let’s be honest, there are moments we all get in over our heads. Thanks to an abundance of poor quality cell phone cameras in the world and the power of the internet, sometimes these critical moments are captured for the entertainment of others.

Exhibit A:

Nice bright orange plastics, proper safety gear and your headlights on are little protection against poor depth perception as this hapless rider demonstrates. We don’t know how this situation ended but a trip over the bars is totally not an unreasonable guess.

Exhibit B:

We’re not sure where the rider is in this one but hopefully on dry ground reflecting upon where it all went wrong. If this were a cartoon, there would be an insanely steep waterfall just up ahead. And while photographs typically aren’t accurate at depicting temperature, you can just tell that water’s cold.

Exhibit C:

Apparently going out with your Desert Storm Army Surplus helmet on does nothing to prevent the laws of gravity from making you look like the village idiot. Also neither does transporting multiple coolers and a beaver carcass.

Exhibit D:
Over_Head_4

All this open space and this rider decides to challenge the integrity of the fence? Perhaps the logic here was “If these little wires tied to these crooked pieces of scrap wood can keep in a raging bull, they should have no trouble containing this here camo ATV”. Followed by the sentence: “Hunny get me the hedge clippers.”

Exhibit E:
Over_Head_5

While the quality of this image leads us to suspect it was in fact captured by Sasquatch, it doesn’t take too much sharp focus to see what’s going on here: A rider and a passenger going all amphibious on their quad, hitting the bank a bit too quickly and suddenly getting a nice view of the sky. We hope the incident didn’t end with a lovely view of the stream bed moments later.

Exhibit F:
Over_Head_6

There’s no sweet talking your machine back onto all fours when the tight switchback around the tree happens to be angled the wrong direction though it certainly looks like this rider is doing his best anyway. “So Honda Foreman, listen, if you tip yourself back over maybe we can work something out involving only Premium petrol all month and some of that snazzy synthetic oil”.

Exhibit G:
Over_Head_7

What the hell is even going on here? An overweight helmetless rider who may or may not be a plumber in what appears to be some kind of parade? We’d love to guess how he ended up on his (or her) side but let’s be honest, does it even matter? This one was likely bruising the reputation of ATV-riders everywhere the moment they arrived to the parade that day. On the plus-side it looks like multiple necklaces survived the incident unscathed.
