Straight out of the dreams of Joe Dirt.

According to breaking industry news, we’re about to get a new machine that can help a lot of us return to the good old days of mullets, Camaros and trikes in the form of the all-new Mini RCR (that’s “Mini Racer” to you and me).

Information on this thing is nearly impossible to come by just yet – as seeing how nothing is mentioned yet on SandCraft’s official site and the page dedicated to the Mini RCR’s says only “coming soon”, but according to industry insiders, the Phoenix round of the 2024 Electrify Expo can soon expect a made-in-the-USA, fully electric, fully suspended 3-wheeler that will be legal for road use!

While it appears to have pedals, supplying the non-human power will be a 750Watt/72Volt motor operating at 40ah for a maximum run time of 4 hours per charge.

If these pics are accurate, it also looks to integrate belt final drive and boast hydraulic disc brakes all around.

So how, you may wonder, can these guys achieve road legality when the original 3-wheeler was targeted so hard by advocacy groups that it wasn’t even off-road legal? The answer is the gray area in what constitutes an e-bike, as, at present, it seems lawmakers aren’t counting the number of wheels in their classification (hence the pedals).

Pricing is expected to be around $5,500 and preorders will be opening soon but, like all entries into the niche’ powersports segment, we suspect the waiting list will be long as demand outpaces supply.

The dedicated site seems your best bet at putting in a preorder but we’re getting a “site coming soon” message just yet there. So out best advice if you’re looking to relive the glory days of the 1980s would be to bookmark the URL and refresh it daily until the preorder section officially opens.

You can also enter your email address there and they promise to let you know when preorders will begin.
