Video: Coming Up Short

When a matter if inches feels like so much more.

We know, we know – nobody has time for ongoing physics lessons but some of these videos are such good demonstrations on how everything works, we just can’t help ourselves.

This week’s example shows what happens when you take to the sky but don’t quite reach the landing ramp (transition); a process we call coming up short.

The downhill slope allows us to come down from big air without pummeling ourselves into the ground because it takes all the stored energy and momentum of man and machine and instantly converts it into forward motion (because wheels are round).

Coming up short, even just a little bit, doesn’t allow this process to happen and, well, here’s what happens.
