Default Zongshen 110cc Starts, But when i turn it off, Wont turn back on.

Title says all, but

I got an old but brand new in the box, Zongshen 110cc for my quad.

it has great compression, it started very easily off the electric start the first time.

after putting it together ready to ride.. it wouldn't start. Left it.. next day.. fired up really easily again..

i rode it for a little.. came back in my drive way, turned it off.. tryed to turn it back on with the electric start like always and it would not start.

Gas stars coming out of the over flow line.

When it starts it runs great.. but if i turn it off.. its over, wont start for hours.

Any help is greatly appreciated, as ive been beating my head over this for days.

Welcome to the forum GLI!

If youve got gas flowing out of a over flow tube... youve either got some dirt in the carb.. a out of adjustment float height (most appear level when the carb is held upside down).. Or the needle and seat are worn out...

Id take the carb apart and have a look.

Your Welcome

So the carb that works on one engine wont on this new one? It leaks on one engine and not the other? If so that would be valve timing problem..

Definitely replace the stock plug with a NGK C7HSA.. No need to try anything until you get rid of that possible problem..

This video here is for a little honda 50 but it should be the same idea on that one too.
YouTube - How To Set Cam Timing

If was running then not and then running again how can the cam timing keep changing??

Try the plug and let us know how you make out.

well i did check the timing like i said.. and it was retarded by one tooth. A brand new motor, and from the factory the screwed up.

i did the timing yesterday actually, changed the plug, and it runs nice now. Way quieter, before it sounded like it was making popcorn.

Only problem now is, im having problems wiring up a light. lol.

Ok I see now what you're saying. Good to hear it was an easy fix.
