Hi I have a 300cc XTM quad i have just recently changed the CDI Box and the spark coil and now have the problem of every time i try to start my quad it will backfire through the carby does anyone know why this would be happenin?

Did it ever run with the new parts? If not Id put the old stuff on and see if it runs...One of the new items could be defective..

 

No I havnt but the old parts are stuffed that's y I got new ones do you know if the cdi could have changed the timing

 

I cant imagine that a new CDI could change the timing but I guess its possible...Do you have a timing light? If so hook it up like you would on a car and run the engine with the flywheel cover off so you can see the timing marks..

 

The bike Doesnt actually starts it trys to start but just backfires through the carb
