Default Help with my 70cc

I have a 70cc yamoto kids four wheeler with a kill switch remote and I am not getting any spark is it possible that the remote is stuck on lock or may I need a new coil. How do I diconnect remote switch from ATV so it does not work any more? I want to see if it is the switch first before buying a new coil.

If you suspect your remote is keeping you from getting spark then unplug it. Then try to start the quad manually. With the remote unplugged the quad will still work normally except that the ignition switch will no longer shut down the quad - you have to use the handlebar kill switch instead.

More likely, though, is that you are having problem with the kill switches or wiring. Is this your CDI?

If so, turn on the ingition switch and set all kill switch pins to the run position. Set your meter to read resistance (in ohms) on a high scale like 100K ohms or higher. Unplug the CDI and measure the kill switch wiring harness pin resistance to ground. You should measure infinite ohms. If your read zero ohms you have kill switch issues to solve.

Else, the next step is to measure the CDI power and trigger voltages, and the CDI output.

Start with verifying that we are talking about the above style CDI, unplugging the remote, and then measuring the kill switch pin resistance. Those test will define which path to take next.
